How does KidSafeGPS work?
A: KidSafeGPS uses a state of the art satellite GPS tracking and cellular network technologies to accurately pinpoint the location of your vehicle. You simply plug it in under your dashboard (for all light and medium duty vehicles built after 1997). It will allow you to locate your vehicle in real-time, 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week. It will allow you to view the routes your child took, how fast they were travelling at each point and monitor when they arrived at each location. You can even see how long they spent at each stop and get alerts when they are driving at excessive speeds or when they are driving dangerously (harsh braking or hard accelerations).
Q: How easy is it to install the KidSafeGPS in my vehicle?
A: The KidSafeGPS is extremely easy to install. You simply take the device and plug it into the OBD-II port of your vehicle and you are done! The OBD-II port is located under your steering wheel and will exist in all light duty vehicles sold in the USA from 1997 onward (cars, SUVs, minivans, etc).
Q: How much is the monthly costs for KidSafeGPS?
A: KidSafeGPS costs $23.99 per month. This includes access to the online portal to monitor your vehicle that the KidSafeGPS is connected to as well as all monthly cellular service costs.
Q: Do I need to pay for any additional cellular service plans?
A: No. Everything is included in the $23.99 per month service plan.
Q: Am I bound to any long term contracts?
A: No. All services that we offer are month to month.
Q: If I end my KidSafeGPS service, can I reactivate the device again in the future?
A: Yes. The device can be reactivated. An activation fee of $29.99 will be charged at the time of reactivation.
Q: How are the monthly service fees billed?
A: The service sees are charged automatically to your credit or debit card that you give us when you initiate your services.
Q: Is there a cancellation fee or an early termination fee?
A: No. There is absolutely no hidden fees with the KidSafeGPS.
Q: How often does the KidSafeGPS track my vehicles?
A: It tracks your vehicles once every minute while the vehicle is turned on. It tracks once every 45 min when your vehicle is turned off.
Q: Does the KidSafeGPS come with any warranty?
A: The KidSafeGPS comes with a 1 year manufacturer's warranty against any manufacturing defects.
Q: If I am not satisfied with my purchase, can I return it?
A: Yes. We provide a 30 day full satisfaction guarantee. If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, please pack it up in the same packaging that you received it in and return it to us for a full refund of your purchase price (provided we receive the product in a resell-able condition). Please note that there is no refunds for shipping, monthly service plan charges or the activation fee.
Q: Where does KidSafeGPS work?
A: KidSafeGPS will work anywhere in the continental USA using TMobile cellular service. It will not work outside of the continental USA.
Q: Is there any additional antennas that needs to be connected to KidSafeGPS?
A: No. There are no additional parts or installation required beyond plugging in the device into the OBDII port under your dashboard.
Q: Do we need to install any additional batteries to power the KidSafeGPS?
A: No. Power for the device is supplied by the OBDII port of your vehicle.
Q: Do I receive any alerts if the device is unplugged?
A: No. The device is unplugged, it is not receiving any power. Therefore, it is unable to send any alerts to you. You will however, receive an alert when the device is reconnected.
